In 2012, Jacobsen and Sabik met in Los Angeles on a photo shoot for Lip Service, the cult alternative fashion label known for its fetish-inspired clothing. What began as a conventional photographer–model relationship quickly evolved into an enduring creative partnership in which the two move fluidly between the roles of photographer, director, stylist, performer, and subject. In 2017, they co-founded PSLA, an artist-run exhibition space in Los Angeles, and more recently contributed original photography, video, and art consulting to Gregg Araki’s feature film I Want Your Sex (2026). Alongside their collaboration, both maintain independent artistic practices. Jacobsen holds a BFA from CalArts and an MFA from UCLA, while Sabik holds a BA from Central Saint Martins and an MFA from ArtCenter College of Design.
